History & Character
Newport Quay occupies a Grade II listed building dating from the 17th century. The guest lounge retains original Victorian wood paneling and exposed beams. A courtyard and outdoor seating area provide a quiet retreat away from the street.
Rooms & Comfort
The hotel has 12 tastefully decorated en-suite rooms in various sizes, including Super King Rooms, Superior Triple Rooms, and Single Rooms. Each room includes a flat-screen TV, complimentary toiletries, and tea and coffee making facilities. USB sockets are installed in receptacles, and towels can be changed on request.
Dining & Breakfast
A continental breakfast is served each morning before 9 a.m., with cereal, yogurt, fruit, toast, croissants, fruit juice, tea, and filter coffee. The hotel caters to dietary needs with a variety of breakfast options. Breakfast is included in every stay, and guests can choose their preferred serving time up to 9 a.m.
Location & Transport
Newport Quay is located in a wide, quiet street just off the High Street, 2 minutes' walk from bars and restaurants. The main Island bus station is 5 minutes on foot, and the Red Jet fast catamaran terminal is 15 minutes away by bus. Carisbrooke Castle, Quay Arts Centre, and Cowes Harbour are all within easy reach.
Family & Personalized Service
The family-run hotel offers tailored accommodations for families, with rooms that can accommodate three adults. The owner gives personal guidance on excursions and local attractions, and even attended a guest performance. A tourist parking permit allows parking outside the hotel and at council-run beach car parks.

“I found the personal welcome each morning particularly touching, a hallmark of genuine hospitality. Rooms are kept spotlessly clean, and the thoughtful addition of an anti-slip mat in the bath suggests a real consideration for guest comfort. It's this blend of meticulous upkeep and attentive service that left a strong, positive impression.”
